The India team led by captain Priyam Garg had an undefeated run throughout the tournament as they won 5 out of their 5 matches before the finals.

Indian team is the most successful team in the tournament’s history with four U-19 world cup titles to their name.

Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in sublime form and he scored an unbeaten hundred in the semi-final match against Pakistan. Jaiswal also is the leading run-scorer in the tournament.

In the bowling department, Ravi Bishnoi has taken 13 wickets from 5 matches.

Talking about tournament’s dark horse Bangladesh, the team won all their matches except the one abandoned against Pakistan. In their journey to the finals, the Bangla Tigers defeated teams like South Africa and New Zealand.

For Bangladesh, this is their first Under-19 World Cup final. This speaks volumes about the way Bangladesh is improving its cricket talents.

On the Indian front, yesterday, many Indian senior cricket team players with the likes of Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, and Mayank Agarwal wished lucked to their juniors through a video message.
