Fossil Gen 5E Smartwatch with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC Launched In India For Rs 18,495

Since 2015, the sale of wearable devices in India has increased rapidly. The wearable devices market in India is anticipated to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of ~26.33%, and reach a sales volume of 16.22 Mn units by 2024, from 4.72 Mn in 2019.

Xiaomi, Fossil, and Apple lead the wearables market in India

In line with growing market share and expanding overall wearable market, Fossil Gen 5E smartwatch with Wear OS has been launched in India today.

It will add to the product portfolio of existing Fossil Gen 5 in the family. The Gen 5E was announced globally last year and has now finally made its way to India.

The Fossil Gen 5E is a watered-down variant of the Gen 5 and comes with a slight change in design and a couple of feature cuts. With this approach, the Fossil Gen 5E’s price has come down to under Rs 20,000.

The Fossil Gen 5E is priced at Rs 18,495 and is now available on Flipkart. It is available in Gold, Grey, Black, Brown, Pink strap options which include both stainless steel and leather strap options.

The watch will be available in India in two new sizes – 44mm and 42mm. The Gen 5E comes with an always-on 1.19-inch OLED display and support various interchangeable straps and watch-faces for personalisation.

The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon WearTM 3100 Platform. It comes with 4 GB of total storage and 1 GB of RAM.

The device supports magnetic charging. It can charge up to 80 percent within 50 minutes, said the brand. It comes with 300 mAh battery capacity.

The smartwatch can help users track sleep history, monitor restfulness and set activity goals. Android and iPhone users can answer tethered calls with Google Assistant support and get audible alerts. They can also use Google Assistant to control their Google Nest devices, lights, music and more from the smartwatch.

Meanwhile, the Fossil Gen 5 with 8GB of storage and three buttons is currently available for INR 22,995 in India.
