People Share Unbelievable Visuals Of Gurgaon’s Flooded Golf Course Road After Rains

In India, the monsoon is seen as a season of rejoicing, giving relief from the scorching heat. Farmers cherish this season and rainfall brings healthy crops. However, things are not always bright and shiny as it also causes waterlogging in many cities across the country like Jaipur, Mumbai, and Delhi.

Today, Gurugram (aka Gurgaon the Millenium City) was deluged by a constant spell of very heavy rain with showers in other parts of the Delhi NCR too. Every year residents expect that next year will be better in terms of managing flooding of the city through an efficient water drainage system.

Sadly, every year things seem to get worse. With social media giving us some insights into yet another flooding. On Wednesday many Twitter users shared the sorry state of affairs from some of the poshest areas in the city.

Prime real estate neighborhoods like Golf Course Road, Hero Honda Chowk, apartments in DLF Phase 5, etc were heavily flooded highlighting challenges with infrastructure and drainage systems.

People also pointed out that buildings on Golf Course Road have homes for 14 crores (some go up to 27 crores).

Here are the unbelievable visuals from Gurgaon flooding

The Times of India quoted a resident saying, “The basement in our society was heavily flooded as rainwater came inside due to poor construction by the developer. We face the same issue almost every year but there hasn’t been any resolution.”

Hindustan Times reports several underpasses being flooded and traffic snarls due to waterlogging that made roads seem like rivers. Power outages were also reported in some parts of the city.

We expect that the municipal corporation to take note of this and ensure this doesn’t occur next year.
