Shah Rukh Khan Performs Umrah in Mecca, Fans React In Excitement

Shah Rukh Khan performed Umrah in Mecca ahead of the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah. The holy city is just a few hours away from Jeddah.

A few pictures of Shah Rukh Khan have appeared on social media where the actor can be seen praying in the holy city of Mecca. He has been in Saudi Arabia for the shoot of his film Dunki.

In the photos that have been posted on fan pages of Shah Rukh, the actor is seen surrounded by people.

He wore a white garment as he performed Umrah. Bollywood superstar’s fans across the world poured him with love and blessings as the photos went viral on the internet.

The ʿUmrah is an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca that can be undertaken at any time of the year, in contrast to the Ḥajj, which has specific dates according to the Islamic lunar calendar.

Reacting to the pictures, a fan wrote in the comment section, “Even am feeling too emotional right now. May Allah keep him and his family very safe and protected.” “So happy to see him fulfilling his wish of visiting this holy place,” added another one. Many also dropped heart emojis for the actor.

Previously many Bollywood celebrities, including Dilip Kumar to Aamir Khan, have performed Hajj and Umrah in the past.

Shah Rukh had earlier during an interview with Times of India said that he hasn’t gone on the pilgrimage. He said, “Hajj is definitely on my agenda. I would like to go there with my son Aryan and daughter Suhana.” It is not known yet if Shah Rukh is with Suhana at Mecca.

While in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, Shah Rukh Khan shared a video and thanked the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Culture for the scenic locations and warm hospitality during the shoot of Dunki.

In the video, he said, “There’s nothing more satisfying than completing a shooting schedule, as is Dunki in Saudi. Thank you for giving us such spectacular locations and warm hospitality. I want to thank Raju sir and the rest of the cast and crew….a very big Shukran to you all. God bless you.”

Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu. It is set to hit theaters in 2023. Besides Dunki, SRK also has Pathaan in the pipeline.

Pathaan will release in cinema halls on January 25, 2023. New posters of the film were released by Shah Rukh on Thursday.

He will also be seen in filmmaker Atlee’s Jawan alongside Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. The film will release in five languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada in theatres across the globe on June 2, 2023.

The fans are waiting for a series of releases of films from SRK — who has been mostly absent from key projects in the last year. Many speculated 2023 to be the year of Shahrukh Khan’s incredible comeback.
