A Fairytale Love: The Journey of Lionel Messi and Antonela from Childhood to Today

As the world watched in awe as Argentina secured victory in the FIFA World Cup 2022, their star player, Lionel Messi, took on a new role– full-time photographer for his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo.

Photos of Messi capturing sweet moments with his wife and the coveted World Cup trophy have gained widespread attention and have been met with much appreciation for their cute and heartwarming nature.

Cute pictures of Messi capturing special moments with the trophy and his wife have taken the internet by storm.

But the love between these two runs much deeper than a recent win on the field. It all started when a young Messi, just nine years old, laid eyes on Antonela, who was the cousin of a friend.

Despite the distance that separated them when Messi left his hometown of Rosario, Argentina to join the Barcelona FC under-14 team in Spain at the age of 11, Antonela stood by him and supported his dreams of becoming a professional footballer.

While Messi’s career began to take off, Antonela focused on her own studies, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities and Social Sciences in her hometown and planning to pursue dentistry.

However, a tragic car accident brought them back together as Messi flew to be by Antonela’s side during her time of need.

It was during this difficult period that their bond grew stronger, ultimately leading Antonela to put her studies on hold and move to Spain to be closer to Messi.

As their love flourished and Messi’s career soared, the couple moved in together in Barcelona and welcomed their first child, Thiago, in 2012.

They welcomed their second son, Mateo, in 2015, and in 2017, they tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Rosario surrounded by family and friends. Their family grew once again in 2018 with the arrival of their third son, Ciro.

Now, as a successful model and social media personality, Antonela has her own accomplishments to be proud of.

But for Messi, there’s nothing he admires more about his wife than “how she gets by on a daily basis — her personality; she is always in a good mood, and she always faces up to problems in an admirable way.”

After falling in love as children, these two continue to stand by each other’s side, inspiring all of us with their enduring love and support.
