These Countries Have No Confirmed Cases Of Coronavirus, Yet

The world is facing an unprecedented pandemic situation due to novel coronavirus, where almost one-third of the world is under lockdown. Yet, there are a handful of countries that have managed to escape the deadly coronavirus. These countries are probably the best places to live during the coronavirus outbreak.

Most of the countries reported having no coronavirus cases are from Africa.

Here’s a list of counties with zero coronavirus cases

1.Turkmenistan

Not only this country has no official coronavirus case, but the country also claims to have no crime. Probably the best place to live during the coronavirus epidemic in the world.

Interestingly Turkmenistan is just next to Iran, which is among the worst coronavirus affected countries. Despite its gas wealth, much of Turkmenistan’s population is still impoverished. After independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, the country entered a period of isolation that has only recently begun to end.

2. Malawi

It is said that the novel coronavirus took a while to come to Africa. But it is there now and only a handful of countries remain Corona-free. Malawi is one of those countries. A small landlocked nation, Malawi is yet to see its first case of COVID-19.

Malawi is known for its topography of highlands split by the Great Rift Valley and enormous heart-shaped Malawi Lake. It is known for its wildlife and beaches. And even though the country has no confirmed cases yet, they have decided to suspend all international flights from April 1st onwards.

3. Burundi

In Burundi, which is gearing up for general elections in May, authorities thank divine intervention for the lack of positive coronavirus cases. Burundi is a tiny country in Africa without any case of COVID-19.

They are so relaxed even during the pandemic times that it’s probably the only country in the world to still have large public gatherings like their football matches, in a stadium full of crowds.

4. Botswana & Lesotho

In Africa, the countries of Botswana and land-locked Lesotho have also not registered a single COVID-19 case despite all bordering South Africa, which has emerged as the most heavily-impacted on the continent with nearly 1,000 confirmed instances.

5. Solomon Islands

The Solomon Islands, a nation of hundreds of islands in the South Pacific, has many WWII-era sites. Solomon Islands is now one of a small handful of countries where there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 to date. Of the three most recent reported suspected cases that were sent for testing in Australia, the first result has now been received, and it is negative.

With the suspension of all commercial flights and the enforced quarantining of the most recent incoming travelers, the Ministry of Health of Solomon Islands continues to monitor the health of those most recent arrivals, to check for any symptoms of the virus.

6. Comoros

The Indian Ocean island nation of the Comoros, situated between Madagascar and Mozambique, has yet to detect a single case of the virus, according to the health ministry.

Some claim mass anti-malarial treatment explains the fact that the Comoros are, at least for now, spared from Covid-19. it is a belief that needs to be confirmed scientifically

7. Yemen

The second-largest Arab sovereign state has been in the midst of a civil war dubbed as the world’s worst humanitarian crisis by the UN for years. Starvation and disease have already killed thousands and its estimated population stands close to 30 million.

The war-torn country has not reported a single case of coronavirus positive patient. Many wonder if that’s actually the case or like many others in the list are due to low testing or no testing at all.

8. Madagascar

Madagascar is big. It’s 226,917 square miles to be precise, making it the fourth-largest island on the planet (and bigger than Spain, Thailand, Sweden, and Germany). The UK is a rather puny 93,410 square miles in comparison.

Madagascar is among the handful of countries with no confirmed coronavirus cases. We hope it remains so throughout the pandemic for Madagascar.

9. North-Korea

Secretive, tightly-controlled state in Asia has yet to report any instances of COVID-19 despite bordering hard-hit countries like South Korea and China. Even though the country maintains its position of zero cases, sources inside North Korea paint quite a different picture.

North-Korea is one of the countries on the list where it’s really difficult to know the exact position of coronavirus cases. However, officially there is no case of coronavirus in the country. It has even gone on to test a missile. Life too in North Korea is said to be going as usual without much restrictions.

10. South Sudan

The country had only carried out 12 tests to date and all of them turned out to be negative. COVID-19 also was not detected in the international community’s newest member.

The Sub-Saharan country’s civil war ended last month with a unity deal between rival factions but scores of internally displaced persons remain in densely-populated camps potentially at risk for disease outbreaks such as the new coronavirus.

Some of the above-listed countries have resorted to drastic lockdown in order to prevent the spread of a disease that threatened to overwhelm the healthcare systems of much larger, wealthier nations across the globe. Some are safe due to their respective locations. We can, however, wish that the deadly virus remain outside their parameters and soon also recede in other parts of the world.
